I thought we could do with another Mercenary thing like this for April.
What to predict?
Being an overly optimistic type, I think it will be even closer by the end of the month. I can see us dropping around 5 points, but I think Arsenal and ManU will drop more points than us. Spurs I think will be similar to us.
However, us, Spurs and ManU have similar inconsistency and difficult to know what happens.
West Ham v Arsenal at the end of the month could be a massive game.
At the end of the month Arsenal and Spurs will both still have a game in hand on us, but as it is Spurs v Arsenal, we can be sure either or both drop points in that match.
I don´t think Wolves will pass us and may even go further behind us.

If we don't qualify for Europe via top 6 or winning the Europa (conference league doesn't count) the season has been a failure and the club only has itself to blame!

On paper, an 8th place finish and finishing in the Euro League semi final/final would be a great season.

I'd be pretty pissed off though seeing as all the issues we've had this season were probably ones we've all seen coming from a mile off and we've never given it a go at addressing them.

Martillo - Come on fella, take the blinkers off. We have taken 1 point from 6 against Brentford and Burnley, now have Chelsea and Arsenal, with City in a few weeks, yet you're 'convinced' we get 6th?? Right now it's looking like 8th spot.

Yesterday's draw was a disappointment, but it's still very open.

No team is looking good. Spurs were looking great, but lost at home to Brighton on Saturday. As said Arsenal have imploded and right now don't look like getting many more points. Arsenal have tough games coming up. ManU and us have picked up the same number of points, they have one game in hand which they play this week against Liverpool!

But then you look at what we have, Chelsea - Frankfurt - Arsenal - Frankfurt. I hope Moyes finds a way to rotate the squad a bit, difficult to see the same players doing well in all games.

The easiest is to say we stay seventh, but it's impossible to predict. I was worried about Lyon, a lot on here were saying it was the end of our season and we stuffed them and marched on. I'm convinced we get top 6, maybe better.

Despite Arsenal rather amusingly imploding and Man Utd virtually on strike, I still think 4th will be too much for us, mainly because you know we will drop points too. 6th is the realistic target for me, but even then we do NOT want Leicester winning the ECL. Have to win today.

Next 3 sets of games look critical (takes us through to May 3rd):

Spurs v Brighton
Man Utd v Norwich
Soton v Arsenal
WHU v Burnley
Lpool v Man Utd
Chelsea v Arsenal

Arsenal v Man Utd
Brentford v Spurs
Chelsea v WHU

Spurs v Leicester
WHU v Arsenal
Man Utd v Brentford

Looks like Spurs could be out of sight after these games. Premier League is full of surprises though!

Despite the Brentford lose this is going ok
Spurs are now strongest for 4th having picked up a maximum 6 points.
They are the only team to take more points than us.
Arsenal haven't taken a single point in April and ManU just 1 point. They still have the advantage of games in hand, but that is not looking as good as it did at the start of the month.
I'd say were on for a top 6 finish and I haven't given up on 4th

Spurs will go all spursy at some point

We will finish above wolves and Man Utd.

Be fun seeing if can catch arsenal. They have to play spurs and us

Why not aim for a CL place next term? You gotta have a dream before it can fade & die.

Because Arsenal, Spurs and Man Utd are stronger than us.

7th? How on earth is that "the best we can hope for"

Re: Premier League Euro places - APRIL
I think league-wise 7th is probably the best we can hope for.

So unless we win the EL, it looks likely to be the Conference League next season.

I’d take 6th place and another season in EL.

The vibe coming out of the club is that Moyes intends to (finally) strengthen the squad this summer so essential that we at least get EL again.

I’ve felt for a while that Arsenal will overhaul Chelsea to nick 3rd.
6th for us would be a result, IMHO.

Re: Premier League Euro places - APRIL
It is asking a bit too much. Their games in hand are tough and I can see them only getting the same points as us, but that leaves them still 6 points ahead of us...
Really cool to be considering it all though...
